TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PROVISION OF THE PASTA BALODIS SERVICE

1. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Terms and conditions of provision of the Pasta Balodis service (hereinafter referred to as Terms and Conditions) lay down the procedure of application by the Customer and provision by SJSC “Latvijas Pasts” of the Pasta Balodis service (hereinafter referred to as Pasta Balodis).

Terms used in the Terms and Conditions:

Latvijas Pasts – State Joint Stock Company “Latvijas Pasts” (hereinafter referred to as Latvijas Pasts) having registered address at 10 Ziemeļu Street, Riga International Airport, Marupe Municipality, LV-1000. Unified registration No.40003052790. Website of Latvijas Pasts: www.pasts.lv. Electronic communication: info@pasts.lv.
Terms and Conditions – Terms and Conditions of the Pasta Balodis service of Latvijas Pasts with all the amendments and supplements in force at the time of provision of the services. You can read them on the website of Latvijas Pasts: www.pastabalodis.lv.
Rates – prices of the Pasta Balodis service of Latvijas Pasts, which are in force at the time of provision of the services. You can check them on the website of Latvijas Pasts: www.pastabalodis.lv.
Pasta Balodis – an additional service by Latvijas Pasts, which ensures printing of a Customer’s electronically prepared postcard in a physical format and sending it to the addressee in Latvia, European Union member states or other countries.
www.pastabalodis.lv – a system, where the Customer can prepare their Pasta Balodis postal items. It enables the Customer to prepare, address and pay for their postcards.

2. PROCEDURE OF APPLICATION FOR THE SERVICE

2.1. The Customer (a natural or legal person) shall prepare a postcard on the website of Latvijas Pasts www.pastabalodis.lv.

2.2. The Customer shall precisely indicate the recipient’s name, surname or name of the legal entity, address and postal code.

2.3. The Customer shall be responsible for the correctness of the addressee’s address specified.

2.4. The Customer shall be responsible for the accompanying text for the postcard. If the accompanying text of the Customer’s electronically prepared postcard does not meet generally accepted moral and ethical principles, then such a postcard will not be prepared for sending to the addressee, and the Customer shall not be entitled to raise any objections.

2.5. The Customer shall be responsible for the conformity of uploaded images with generally accepted moral, ethical principles and regulatory enactments. If the image of the postcard prepared electronically by the Customer contains pornographic or erotic materials describing or depicting sexual abuse of children, sexual acts between people and animals, necrophilia, or abuse of pornographic or erotic character, such postcards will not be prepared and sent to the addressee. Images, which popularise, promote or induce hatred, discrimination, or violence against any person or group of persons, which is based on race, skin colour, family, ethnic, or national origin, as well as religion, will not be sent to the addressee. Images, which are related to being opposed to the independence or sovereignty of the Republic of Latvia as a state, undermining of its territorial unity, overturning the public power, or amending the political system, will also not be sent to the addressee.

2.6. The Customer shall prepay the service using internet bank or paying by a bank payment card Master Card, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron.

3. LIABILITIES OF LATVIJAS PASTS

3.1. Latvijas Pasts undertakes:

3.1.1. To provide the Customer with full information about the content of the service and terms and conditions of its provision;

3.1.2. To ensure that the Pasta Balodis service is provided according to the procedure laid down in the Terms and Conditions;

3.1.3. To prepare postal items of Pasta Balodis according to the Customer’s order:

3.1.3.1. Ensuring that the addressee’s information and text added by the Customer to the postcard is printed on the type of postcard chosen by the Customer;

3.1.3.2. Ensuring that the Customer’s postcard is put into a C6 envelope or is sent without an envelope;

3.1.4. To deliver prepared postal items of Pasta Balodis:

3.1.4.1. To addressees in Latvia within two to three working days;

3.1.4.2. To addressees in European Union member states within five to ten working days;

3.1.4.3. To addresses in other countries within seven to fourteen working days.

3.1.5. Domestic postal items of Pasta Balodis, which Latvijas Pasts has not managed to deliver to the addressee due to an erroneously indicated address, shall be stored for 12 months.

3.1.6. Customer's personal data shall be used only for the preparation of necessary documents;

3.1.7. To inform the Customer in a timely manner about any changes in terms and conditions of the service or other terms and conditions.

4. LIABILITIES OF THE CUSTOMER

4.1. The Customer shall take full responsibility for the truthfulness of the data submitted to Latvijas Pasts.

4.2. The Customer undertakes:

4.2.1. To fulfil terms and conditions of this service;

4.2.1. To prepay the service in a timely manner;

4.2.3. To observe terms and conditions of provision of the service;

4.3. The Customer shall be responsible for the correctness of the addressee’s address specified.

4.4. The Customer shall be responsible for the accompanying text for the postcard. If the accompanying text of the Customer’s electronically prepared postcard does not meet generally accepted moral and ethical principles, then such a postcard will not be prepared for sending to the addressee, and the Customer shall not be entitled to raise any objections.

5. TERMS OF PAYMENT

5.1. The Customer shall prepay the service using internet bank or paying by a bank payment card Master Card, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron according to the prices of the Pasta Balodis service, which are in force at the time of provision of the service, and which are available on the website of Latvijas Pasts www.pastabalodis.lv.

6. TECHNICAL INFORMATION

6.1. The addressee’s data (name, surname, address) submitted by the user shall be stored by the keeper of the Pasta Balodis service Latvijas Pasts for 30 days.

6.2. When you visit the website of Latvijas Pasts www.pastabalodis.lv, no cookies are downloaded into the Customer’s computer or other device used by the Customer, which is connected to the internet.

6.3. We use the Google Analytics analysis tool to analyse the Pasta Balodis service.

6.4. The Pasta Balodis service contains hyperlinks to other websites of Latvijas Pasts.

7. PRIVACY POLICY

7.1. Customer’s personal data (phone number / e-mail) will be used only for communication with Latvijas Pasts and only in the cases, when the postcard data are incomplete or there are technical problems with uploading the image. Personal data are not used for any other purpose, transferred to third parties or processed longer than necessary to ensure the provision of the Pasta balodis service.

7.2. Customer’s personal data are processed according to applicable regulation in the field of protection of personal data, internal policies, guidelines, and procedures of Latvijas Pasts. You can read the Privacy Policy of Latvijas Pasts and learn more about you rights as a data subject here:
